We collect information from you when reclaiming your dog. We ask you to complete an invoicing agreement to pay the kennelling cost to the kennels. This is in line with the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Environmental Protection (Stray dogs) Regulations.

We collect personal information from you such as your name, address, telephone number, email address and vehicle registration.

Process the reporting and return of stray dogs - this is a statutory requirement under section 150 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. In order for us to do this, you must provide your personal information to us. If you do not give us your personal information, we may be unable to provide this service to you.

Research and statistics

Anonymised and pseudonymised data may be used for research and statistical purposes. Any data collected may be used for research and statistical purposes that are relevant and compatible with the purpose that the data was collected for.

The information Tunbridge Wells Borough Council collects will be stored by Maidstone Borough Council on our behalf. You can view their privacy information on their website.

The information will also be shared with Viking Oak Boarding Kennels and Animal Sanctuary. They may use it for their own reasons that are different to ours, but they still have to look after it in the same way. You can view their privacy information on their website.

What are your rights in relation to the personal information we process?

We will only keep your information for as long as we need it. Once we no longer need it, we will keep it for a set period (a retention period) but not use it.
