Changes to your financial situation can be stressful. If left unsolved, this can have a serious impact on your mental and physical wellbeing. Help and support is available to you from a range of council services and our partners in the community.
Age UK Tunbridge Wells
Age UK Tunbridge Wells offers lots of services for older people and their carers such as:
Hot meals, befriending, independent living support, day care (social and for those living with dementia), information and advice (free), advocacy (free), IT support, footcare, CST, dementia outreach support, digital buddies.
Number One Community Trust
Paddock Wood Community Advice Centre
PWCAC provides a free, confidential, and impartial advice service. They can give advice and support on debt and money, employment, housing and homelessness, mental health support and welfare benefits matters.
Opening hours: Open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 1:30pm and offer face-to-face appointments as well as a drop-in service.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is able to offer emotional, spiritual and practical support for the local community.
They provide referrals to foodbanks and other groups. They are also able to accept referrals from agencies for people in the local community who require practical assistance for items such as furniture, white goods, bedding, clothing etc.
They run a weekly sale (Thursday) with good quality clothes at very low prices 50p-£2.
Finally, they run a lunch club on Wednesday and Thursday at 12:30 for £5 per day.
Tunbridge Wells Safe Haven
Tunbridge Wells Safe Haven offers a welcoming, safe, comfortable, non-judgmental and non-clinical environment, sometimes known as 'crisis cafes'. They can provide information and emotional support if you are in crisis or feel you are heading towards a crisis situation. You can come just for a chat, or you can access one-to-one emotional support from trained mental health professionals.
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 6pm - 11pm
Offering support: face to face, phone call, email or video call.

West Kent Mind
West Kent Mind understands that managing a mental health problem can be worrying and isolating, so they offer clear and practical support that everyone can access. Their experienced team offers a range of services from counselling and hands on activities, all designed to help put coping strategies into practice for everyday life.
Opening hours: Sevenoaks Wellbeing Centre is open Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm. During the winter they work from home on Friday.
