Royal Victoria Place car park refurbishment and maintenance

The Council has appointed Baxall Construction to carry out refurbishment and essential maintenance in Royal Victoria Place car park starting in March 2025.

When completed the work means car park users will benefit from wider parking bays, new lighting, improved signage and easier payment methods through new ANPR cameras. There will also be redecoration, resurfacing and structural repairs.

In addition, we will be installing solar PV panels of the top deck of the car park to provide sustainable energy for the shopping centre and car park.

The work is scheduled to take 15 months and should be completed in June 2026.

The car park will remain open although some parking spaces may not be available while work is taking place in that area. During June and July 2025 the car park will be fully closed; alternative parking is available in nearby Meadow Road and Crescent Road car parks.

Due to the nature of the work it will sometimes be necessary to carry out noisy operations. Baxall Construction will do their best to keep noise levels as low as possible and will take all practical precautions to contain any noise within the site.
