Share your views on the Local Validation List and help shape how planning applications are reviewed in the borough.
What is the Local Validation List?
The Local Validation List sets out the information required for different types of planning applications. This enables the Council to validate submissions and properly assess development proposals.
Following adoption of the Tunbridge Wells Local Plan, the checklist has been reviewed to ensure it remains up to date.
The checklist includes:
- National requirements – applicable to all planning applications in England
- Local requirements – only required in certain circumstances (depending on location, scale or type of development)
What are we consulting on?
We are seeking your views on whether the proposed updates are:
- Clear and easy to understand
- Proportionate to the type of development
- Supported by national and local policy
Note: This consultation is about validation requirements, not planning policy.
Consultation period
The consultation will run for 6 weeks:
- Start: Friday 8 May 2026
- End: midnight on Friday 12 June 2026
