Public consultation on Tunbridge Wells Local Plan Main Modifications
People are invited to make comments on proposed ‘Main Modifications’ to the emerging Local Plan, these being needed to make the Plan ‘Sound’ and allowing Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to proceed to adopt the new Local Plan in due course.
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council submitted its emerging Local Plan for Examination in November 2021, since when an independent Planning Inspector has been examining the Plan on behalf of the Secretary of State.
Stage 1 and 2 Hearing Sessions took place in 2022, and Stage 3 Hearing Sessions were held in June and July 2024, followed by a Public Consultation in September – October on a suite of new evidence base documents. A final Hearing Session was held in November 2024.
The council is now consulting on proposed ‘Main Modifications’ to the Local Plan, these being needed to make the Plan ‘Sound’ and allowing Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to proceed to adopt the new Local Plan in due course. The proposed ‘Main Modifications’ are accompanied by a Sustainability Appraisal, Habitats Regulations Assessment and other supporting consultation documents.
Representations must be made in writing and received within the consultation period, which runs from Monday 17 March to until midnight on Wednesday 30 April 2025.
Please refer to the Consultation on proposed Main Modifications to the Local Plan webpage for more information and to view the documents in full, or contact LocalPlan@tunbridgewells.gov.uk should you have any questions.
