Public Consultation on Tunbridge Wells Local Plan: New Evidence Base Documents
To support the emerging Local Plan which has been at Examination since November 2021 (and most recently subject to Stage 3 examination hearing sessions held in June and July 2024), the Council has produced new and additional evidence base documents.
These include a new Tunbridge Wells Gypsy, Traveller, and Travelling Showpeople Accommodation Needs Assessment (GTAA) 2024-2039, Final Report June 2024 (Version 2), and other documents supporting a revised development strategy for the Local Plan – these include supporting highways, education, infrastructure, and other associated documents.
The Council is now consulting on these new and updated evidence documents, and people are invited to make comments during a six-week public consultation starting Wednesday the 11th September 2024 until midnight on Wednesday the 23rd October 2024. To view the documents in full and for more information on how to submit a response, please refer to the Consultation on New Evidence Base Documents webpage.
Following this consultation, the Planning Inspector examining the Local Plan will hold a Hearing Session on Thursday the 14th November 2024, with a reserve day on Friday the 15th November 2024, to discuss Accommodation needs for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling showpeople, and any other matters arising from the public consultation. The Hearing Session will be held in-person at the Town Hall, Mount Pleasant Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN1 1RS and live streamed via the council’s website (TunbridgeWells.Public-i.tv). Further details will be published on the Examination of the Local Plan and latest news webpage when available.
