Accessibility Assessments: working in partnership with Royal Tunbridge Wells Together, the Access Group provides assessments for hospitality venues on how they can become accessible for all customers.
Assessments are carried out by people who have lived-experience of disability in Tunbridge Wells. A certificate of accreditation is issued to those venues that complete the process.
The group lobbies for better access to neuro rehabilitation facilities: their Louder Together Campaign has demonstrated the power of working together with local charities that share their goals.
Transport and travel:
Their transport officer, Cllr Alan Bullion (STC), liaises with transport providers to improve services for passengers with additional needs. A successful petition led by the Access Group has ensured High Brooms station gets improvements to its access.
RVP development:
The access group has worked closely with the RVP development team to ensure forthcoming improvements to the shopping centre will be inclusive by reflecting the requirements of those with additional needs.
Highlighting issues:
