Royal Tunbridge Wells Together Business Improvement District ballot result
The ballot of Royal Tunbridge Wells Together Business Improvement District (BID) members held in February 2024 to determine if the BID should be renewed for a second five-year term (1 April 2024 – 31 March 2029) has resulted in a vote in favour continuing the scheme.
A BID is a business-led initiative supported by government legislation which looks to improve the trading environment for businesses within a local area. The BID is funded by the businesses through a levy on their business rates (non-domestic rates).
The Royal Tunbridge Wells Together BID was created in 2019 and has over 640 members.
The BID supports businesses in Royal Tunbridge Wells in a variety of ways including crime prevention, training and promotional activities. Members of the public may be more familiar with the BID through Christmas lights in the town centre, planting in the town centre and the free gift guides and what’s on guides available during the year.
