A message from the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells

Councillor Nancy Warne sends Christmas wishes.

It feels like this has been a challenging and difficult year for many of us, but in my travels around the borough as Mayor, I’ve found it heartening to meet so many amazing people and hear about their incredible work in making our borough such a special place to live. With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to bite and many more families in the borough struggling financially, the volunteers engaged with Mayor’s Toy Appeal have been especially busy this year in helping to bring a bit of Christmas magic to them. Thank you to everyone who has donated toys to this year’s appeal.

My charity for the year, Wellbeing in the Weald, launched a youth club this Autumn in my home town, a welcome addition to the many activities already in place for those experiencing loneliness and isolation. In the New Year we are organising an exciting new music project ‘Music Making in the Weald’ on Saturday 22 March 2025 in St. Dunstan’s Church, Cranbrook. We will also be hosting a fundraising Barn Dance on Sunday 27 April 2025. It would be lovely to see you there, so keep an eye out for details coming soon and please come and join in the fun!

I hope you find time over the holidays to enjoy to enjoy the festivities with family and neighbours, and I hope the weather improves so we can all get out and about for a walk in our beautiful countryside.

Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the New Year.
Nancy
