Briefing for election agents and candidates
A briefing for election agents and those standing for local elections in 2019
The Returning Officer for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council will be holding a briefing for election agents and those standing for election in the 2019 borough and parish council elections on 2 May.
The briefing event will explain the nominations process and provide important information about standing for election.
Election agents and independent candidates who are considering standing for election are welcome to attend. Candidates who have an election agent who is not able to attend are also welcome.
The briefing will be held on Wednesday 13 March at 6pm in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall, TN1 1RS.
Information will be provided on how the nominations process will be conducted, the paperwork that candidates are required to complete and legislative changes to the nominations process.
Returning Officer William Benson said: ‘There are lots of forms and regulations around standing for election, and some of the rules have changed since last time. It's important that candidates get them right and our elections team can help. This briefing will give candidates and agents the information they need to avoid being accidentally excluded due to errors in their paperwork.’
