Recycling and waste collections delays

Update

In the past week we have not been able to complete some collections on the scheduled day but have caught up with these missed rounds the next day. We are very sorry for any inconvenience.

The delays were caused initially because police closed North Farm Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) in connection with their inquiries into the ram-raid at nearby Asda.

The situation has been made more difficult due to a change in procedure implemented by KCC at the HWRC. The changes have resulted in long delays to enter the tip and an increase in the time it takes a crew to empty their vehicle.

We are working with KCC to improve the efficiency of our operations at the HWRC and we should see improvements next week. In the meantime, Urbaser has brought in additional vehicles and staff to catch up with the rounds that have been missed as quickly as possible.

If you bin is missed please leave it out and we will collect it as soon as we can.
