About the elections
Ward and councillor changes
Following the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) review of the number of councillors, wards and ward names for Tunbridge Wells, from May 2024:
- the number of wards reduced from 20 to 14
- the number of councillors reduced from 48 to 39
This means that all seats on the Council were up for election on Thursday 2 May 2024.

Police and Crime Commissioner election
The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election for the Kent Police Area was held on Thursday 2 May 2024.
The Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) is responsible for dealing with candidates and agents, the conduct of the poll and collating the total result across the Kent Police Area and declaring the result.
The Chief Executive of Gravesham Borough Council, Stuart Bobby, has been appointed as the PARO for the May 2024 PCC election.

Postal votes
