Certificate of Existence

(also called a Proof of Life, Certificate of Life or Letter of Existence)

A Certificate of Existence (also called a Proof of Life, Certificate of Life or Letter of Existence) is a certificate produced by a trusted entity to confirm that an individual is still alive.

Governments, pension and insurance companies may request this in order to continue to pay individuals.

The fee for this service is £25 and is payable at the time of presentation. (From 1^st April 2024).

Terms and conditions

To enable us to confirm your existence please read the terms and conditions below.

• You must appear in person at the address below and ask for Proof of Existence.
• If you require us to confirm your partner/spouse is alive, they must appear in person and must provide a valid ID such as a passport.
• A valid passport or driving licence must be provided which matches the name on the confirmation of existence form.
• Your name and address must match with the name and address contained on the confirmation of existence form.  You must provide proof of your address (in paper format) in the form of a:
  • valid Council Tax statement (dated within last 12 months.
  • bank statement (dated within last month)
  • utility bill (dated within last 3 months)
• The confirmation of existence form you wish us to sign must contain an official English translation if required.
• If any of the above is not provided, we will be unable to confirm your existence and other arrangements will need to be made. A refund will not be given.
• The service is available daily.

Once we have seen the evidence and you in person, we will be able to sign and stamp your document.
