Search Planning Applications

Our Planning Application Search website allows you to search for details of Planning applications and appeals and view the Planning history of each property within the Borough.

You are able to view all the public details of Planning applications including any comments.

You can also comment on applications and setup email notifications to receive details of any Planning applications in your local area.

There is a “consultation period” on most applications during which you will be able to submit comments on applications ahead of a decision being made.

If you want to find out when this consultation period ends, please:

  • Search for the application
  • Click on the application, and then select the “Important Dates” tab
  • The date will be whichever is the later of the “Latest Site Notice Expiry Date” of the “Latest Advertisement Expiry Date”

More information is provided in the “Planning, Listed Building and other Applications: Having You Say” document.

Public Notifications on Applications

As advised in the Autumn edition of Local it was intended that from 1 October 2016 letters will no longer be sent to neighbouring properties advising of applications, but would instead be publicised by the site notices (or local newspaper where required by legislation). In order to address some technical issues with the system which allows people to register online to be notified of applications this change in procedure was put back until 1 April 2017. These issues have now been resolved.

Therefore, from 1 April 2017 we have changed the way we tell you about planning applications for properties near your home or business.

We will be publicising applications by putting up notices around the site (and by a newspaper advertisement where we are required to do so by law). We will no longer be sending letters to neighbouring properties.

We have been letting people know about the change in procedure since summer 2016.

A set of procedures and protocols have been drawn up advising where and how site notices will be placed to ensure that any affected party will be aware of an application, together with other information on how to comment on applications.
