A role for young people in shaping the future of Royal Tunbridge Wells
There’s an exciting opportunity for two young people (aged between 16 and 22) to take part in shaping the future of Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre.
The voluntary role will involve attending and contributing to meetings of the working group that has been set up to deliver a future for the town centre, enabling it to recover, evolve and flourish over the coming years and ensure its long-term vitality and viability.
If you have ideas about how the town centre can grow to provide opportunities for younger people (or any other part of the community), we would love to hear from you. Meetings will be held approximately once a month that are anticipated to last a few hours. There may also be scope for further activities at public exhibitions as the plan progresses.
Being involved in the working group will provide valuable experience of the process of local governance and community led projects which could be used to support further/higher education applications and job applications. The role may be of specific interest if you are considering further study or a career in planning, geography and economics.
If you are interested and wish to discuss the roles and responsibilities further, please contact Deborah West at deborah.west@tunbridgewells.gov.uk or 01892 554487.
