Celebrating 15 Years of Tunbridge Wells in Bloom

As part of our What We Do campaign, our Parks team tell us a little bit more about Tunbridge Wells in Bloom...

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom campaign – a milestone that celebrates a decade and a half of dedication, community spirit and horticultural excellence. Since its inception, the campaign has brought together the Council, residents, schools, volunteers and local groups to transform the town into a welcoming environment, rich in colour and biodiversity.

Over the years, our hard work has been recognised with multiple accolades in the S&SE in Bloom competitions. We are proud to have achieved Gold awards not only for the town itself but also for our beautiful parks and open spaces, including the cemeteries, nature reserve and the Common. These successes are a testament to the ongoing commitment of the Bloom committee, Parks team, KHWP and the many volunteers. The volunteering force in Tunbridge Wells is truly amazing, many residents give up their time and energy to keep the town blooming.

This year is particularly special, as we have the honour again of representing the region in the national RHS Britain in Bloom finals – a proud moment for our community. Preparations are well underway, with the Parks team and contractors working tirelessly to ensure every green space is looking its best. Volunteer-led projects are playing a vital role, with residents of all ages getting involved in everything from nature conservation, planting, weeding and litter-picking, to building and painting planters. The sense of civic pride is very strong, and we hope that the RHS judges will be impressed by both our efforts and the spirit behind them.

As we celebrate 15 years of Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom, we look forward to a very busy summer full of flowers, collaboration and – we hope - success. Thank you to everyone who helps make this campaign flourish year after year.
