Awards for Council’s Housing team
The Housing team came away from the annual Kent Housing Group (KHG) Excellence Awards ceremony with two awards that celebrate their amazing work.
At the ceremony held in Northfleet in September (2024) the team was highly commended for their Employment and Housing Project partnership with Beam, the social enterprise that delivers well-being, employment and housing support to individuals in housing need and vulnerable individuals.
The second award was given to Housing Options team leader Sabrina Goacher who was highly commended in the Young Housing Professional of the Year category.
Councillor Astra Birch, Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities said: ‘My warmest congratulations to the Housing team. I have seen first hand just how dedicated the team is and how much they care about the work they do. These awards are hard-earned and very well deserved.’
The Kent Housing Group is the ‘collective voice’ of the housing sector in Kent and Medway. It has representation from all 12 Kent local authorities, Medway Council, 13 housing associations, Kent County Council and Kent Public Health. KHG also has representation from organisations who work in partnership with social housing landlords, including the Kent Housing and Development Group, Homes England, the National Housing Federation, the National Landlords Residents Association and the South East Housing and Development Group.
