Supporting National Apprenticeship Week

The Council is hosting an event outside the Town Hall in Royal Tunbridge on Wednesday 8 February to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week which runs from Monday 6 February until Sunday 12 February

Industry professionals from Runway Training will be bringing a mobile classroom to the town to give businesses and residents an insight into the many apprenticeship opportunities available in the local area.

Meet Runway Training

Runway Training is a West Kent based provider, with over 200 apprentices currently working across the South-East.

Employers, representatives from local business organisations and anyone interested in finding out more about apprenticeships is invited to come along to the classroom which will be parked outside the Town Hall on Civic Way between 9.30am and 3pm on Wednesday 8 February.

Runway Training will host a question and answer session and speak to businesses and residents on a one-to-one basis, providing information on the training routes they offer and how businesses can utilise apprenticeship levy spend and other government support to train their own apprentices.

What is National Apprenticeship Week?

National Apprenticeship Week is organised by the Government in collaboration with public and private sector partners.

National Apprenticeship Week has been celebrated since 2007, promoting the importance of apprenticeship programmes to people, businesses and local communities.

The theme for 2023 is ‘Skills for Life’; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, while providing businesses with a talented workforce equipped for the future.
