Tier 4 message from the Leader of the Council

The news on Saturday that Tunbridge Wells would be moving into Tier 4 is very unfortunate but very necessary given the new variant of the virus and the huge pressure on our health services.

I know it is upsetting for people whose Christmas plans to see family and friends have now been cancelled, and equally devastating for those businesses forced to close again with little notice.

The Council is there to provide help where they can and the website will be updated with the latest information as quickly as possible. If you need urgent assistance please telephone 01892 526121 or 03000 41 92 92.

Thank you all for continuing to play your part by following the rules. I urge you to carry on doing so, it is the only way we are going to regain control over the spread of the virus. The vaccine is being distributed and we will see this terrible time come to an end.

I wish everyone a safe and peaceful Christmas and look forward to a brighter new year for us all.
