Public Inquiry website launched
Following the announcement of the date for the public inquiry to consider the Council’s compulsory purchase order (CPO) for its Calverley Square development, a dedicated inquiry website has been launched.
The website is hosted by the organisation administering the inquiry process and includes information and documentation relating to the inquiry, including who to contact should you wish to appear.
The inquiry will be conducted by the Planning Inspectorate which deals with planning appeals, national infrastructure planning applications, examinations of local plans and other planning-related and specialist casework in England and Wales.
The inquiry will begin on Tuesday 12 February 2019 and will be held at the Mercure Tunbridge Wells Hotel, Pembury, TN2 4QL. The inquiry will be conducted by an independent inspector, Graham Dudley BA (Hons) Arch Dip Cons AA RIBA FRICS, who is appointed by the Planning Inspectorate.
The Council has been negotiating to acquire land and new rights over certain land as part of its plans to develop a new office building and theatre and has issued a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO). The public inquiry will consider objections to the CPO and hear evidence from both the Council and objectors.
