Calverley Square – Public Inquiry

The public inquiry to consider the Council’s compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) for its Calverley Square development will begin in February 2019.

The date for the public inquiry to consider Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s compulsory purchase of land and acquisition of rights over land for its Calverley Square development has been announced. The inquiry will begin on Tuesday 12 February 2019 and will be held at the Mercure Tunbridge Wells Hotel, Pembury, TN2 4QL.

The inquiry will be conducted by an independent inspector appointed by the Planning Inspectorate. The Council has been negotiating to acquire land and new rights over certain land as part of its plans to develop a new office building and theatre and has issued Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs). The public inquiry will consider objections to these CPOs and hear evidence from both the Council and objectors.
