Free, Independent Advice

The Energy Saving Trust website has information on how you can save energy in your home. They offer free and independent advice through their helpline on 0300 123 1234 (charged at the national rate).

Warm Homes

The Warm Homes scheme is a partnership project between Kent County Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to support residents with energy saving measures in their home.

The Warm Homes programme can offer subsidised heating and insulation through Energy Company Obligation funding, but you may also need to contribute towards the cost.

Winter Warmth

Winter is nearly upon us and there are a number of schemes to assist residents with heating and insulation for their homes and generally trying to keep warm and healthy.

Qualifying criteria are based around medical conditions that are exacerbated by cold:-

Over 65 with:-

Cardiovascular disease

Respiratory disease

Pulmonary disease

Mental health issues

Disability Or other multiple long term conditions

Funding is interest free attached to the property repayable on transfer of ownership.

Winter Warmth – Can be a top up of Warm Homes funding in the form of a repayable grant to cover the full cost of works.

Top Up Funding in the form of a repayable grant may also be available directly from the Local Authority.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO): Help to Heat

ECO Local Authority Flex allows Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to include a wider package of assistance for residents who are in fuel poverty, on a low income or are vulnerable to living in a cold home due to age/health conditions.

Changes to the existing policy allow help to those who have not previously qualified for assistance.
