New Youth Hubs opening

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is working in partnership with the YMCA to give younger residents places to socialise.

Following the adoption of the Council’s Strategic Plan in 2024, work has been underway with local organisations to establish youth hubs throughout the borough. This initiative responds directly to feedback from the 2023 Residents’ Survey, where 51% of respondents (771 people) said they wanted to see more “activities for young people.”

The youth hubs, delivered in partnership with the YMCA, offer safe and welcoming environments where young people can connect with others and access valuable support services.

The newest hub will open at The Amelia Scott in Royal Tunbridge Wells, running every Tuesday from 3.30pm to 5pm, starting 28 October 2025. The Council plans to collaborate with wellbeing organisations to offer talks and advice sessions tailored to the interests and needs of young people.

Cllr Corinna Keefe, Interim Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities and Borough Councillor for Park ward, said:

We want to build a thriving borough with plenty of activities and support for young people. Youth hubs can be a lifeline, offering friendships, guidance, and a safe place to spend time. I'm delighted that the Amelia is opening a new youth hub, and I can't wait to add more places to the list.”
