Housing award winners
The annual awards – the Oscars for the regional housing sector – celebrated the very best projects, professionals and partnerships across housing in Kent and Medway at an event in September 2025.
TWBC was announced as winner of the Development and Regeneration award for a 2024 project carried out on Council-owned properties at Crescent Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells.
The project saw four long-term empty properties brought back into use, providing much needed temporary accommodation to meet local housing demands. Working with colleagues in other departments, the Housing team created four (three and four bedroom) energy efficient homes in a way that was sympathetic to the historic nature of the buildings. They are now all fully occupied.
Councillor Astra Birch, Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities said: ‘I was very pleased to see the efforts of the team recognised with this award, and for such an important project that provides homes for people in their time of greatest need.’
