Food waste campaign

Category: News Published: Wednesday 21 January 2026

From April we’ll be collecting food waste from all households as we introduce a kerbside collection service to all flats, apartments and communal properties.

Caddies are being delivered to these properties and if you haven’t received yours yet you soon will.

Thank you if you already recycle or compost your food waste and hello to the new recyclers we’ll be collecting from!

You may have seen a sticker on your bin recently reminding you to use your food caddy for your food waste. The sticker is part of a campaign running across Kent to help increase county-wide recycling rates. Recycling food uses less energy and is less costly than burning food waste mixed with general rubbish.

For more information about what you can put in your food waste caddy see our 'What goes in your bins and boxes' webpage.
