Odours and fumes
We can investigate odour or smell as a nuisance from most sources including agricultural activities (as long as they are not just normal activities) and commercial activity. If possible we need to know where the odour comes from as trying to track down a mystery smell is very difficult particularly if it’s intermittent.
Most commonly we are asked to investigate odours from extraction systems on restaurants and takeaways. In these cases we can check that the extractor system and ducting is being maintained and cleaned properly. There will always be odd incidents from commercial kitchen systems but they should not be excessive.
We are not able to deal with odours from domestic premises such as cooking and cigarette smoke coming from within people’s homes.
