Car park reopens ahead of schedule
The refurbished Royal Victoria Place car park reopens on Saturday 12 July.
Having reached the age when essential maintenance was required, a major project began earlier this year that required the car park to be closed for two months during June and July. That phase of the work has been completed a little ahead of schedule and so the car park can reopen.
The maintenance and refurbishment project is ongoing until summer 2026 but car park users will already be able to notice some of the work that’s taken place including the complete refurbishment of level 2.
When the project is complete redecoration and new, brighter LED lighting will offer a more pleasant experience in the car park and new signage will help you navigate your way to and from the shopping centre. More disabled spaces are being allocated and EV charging points installed.
We are also exploring installing solar PV panels on the top level of the car park to provide sustainable energy for the shopping centre and car park. Together with the new LED lighting this will reduce the centre’s carbon emissions.
