All day parking for £2 on Sundays - September 2019

Reduced Cost Parking on Sundays in Royal Tunbridge Wells for a 3-month trial period.

Royal Tunbridge Wells Together is pleased to announce that from 1 October, for a 3-month trial period, Sunday parking in Royal Tunbridge Wells will cost a flat rate of £2 for visitors to 6 town centre car parks.

The offer will provide visitors a significant saving, a 6-hour stay costing £6.30 now will cost only £2 from 1 October onward (the first Sunday being 6 October).

The offer will be available in 6 of the largest town centre car parks:

  • Meadow Road
  • Linden Park
  • Upper Pantiles (Major York’s Road)
  • Great Hall Arcade
  • Crescent Road
  • Royal Victoria Place

One-hour parking will still be available at the current rate of £1.60 (or £1.30 using the Ringo app).

Change to parking concession

In partnership with the Business Improvement District (BID) we have recently introduced £2 parking on Sundays until the New Year, to encourage people to visit Royal Tunbridge Wells and support the local businesses.

The Sunday parking offer has been partially funded by the withdrawal of Thursday night free parking after 6pm, just for the duration of the trial. The remainder has been met by additional contributions from the BID and the Council.

The BID, together with local businesses, believe that the £2 Sunday parking offer is likely to have a bigger impact for more businesses and that this is where available funds should be focussed.

So, why not plan to come into Royal Tunbridge Wells and start your Christmas shopping; combine it with some lunch and perhaps a visit to the ice rink in Calverley Grounds – it opens on the 15 November.
