Businesses currently not able to re-open

Important information and guidance for businesses not currently able to re-open.

The government website has published further information and guidance about which businesses and venues can re-open.

All businesses and venues can re-open, except for those on the list below which must remain closed for the foreseeable future:

  • nightclubs, dance halls, discotheques
  • sexual entertainment venues and hostess bars

From Saturday 15 August, the following businesses and venues are permitted to re-open:

  • bowling alleys
  • indoor skating rinks
  • indoor play areas, including soft play
  • casinos
  • exhibition halls and conference centres (although this should only be for government endorsed pilots)

If your business or venue is permitted to re-open or remain open, it must close off or cease to provide any of the above businesses or services that must remain closed.

Please refer to sector specific government guidance on working safely during coronavirus if your business is allowed to re-open and not listed in the exemption list above.
