Walking & Cycling

Walking has a huge number of benefits for individuals, for the environment and for the road network. More of us walking will mean a healthier population, less crowded roads, and less pollution from traffic.

For more information about walking routes in your area see the Kent County Council website.

We have two local cycling centres at:

  • Bedgebury Pinetum
Great for both a family day out on the 6 miles (10km) surfaced cycle track and for those who want more of a challenge with 7.5 miles (12km) of off road tracks amongst the trees.
  • Bewl Water
The largest area of inland water in the South East with a 12.5 mile (20km) route around the reservoir. There is also a more challenging 2 mile (3.2km) stretch of steep climbs.

For these and similar routes, maps, clubs and events in Kent visit the Kent County Council’s Cycle Pages.
