What information do we collect from you?

We collect personal information about you such as your name and address. We do not collect any other information that you may feel is sensitive to you.

Why do we collect this information?

We have a statutory duty to collect this information to provide a Planning Enforcement Service to you and other residents in the Borough. In order for us to do this and to notify you of the outcome of the investigation, you must provide your personal information to us.

Who might we share your information with?

The information Tunbridge Wells Borough Council Planning Enforcement service collects will be stored by Maidstone Borough Council on our behalf. You can view their privacy information here.

If you make a payment to us, Civica will also use your information, but only on our instructions. They won’t use it for any other reasons, and they have to look after it in the same way we would. You can view their privacy information here.

What do we do with your information?

We use the information you provide to update you following an investigation into the matter you have raised. We will not use it for any other purposes without your consent, or without telling you first.

How long to we keep hold of your information?

We will only keep your information for as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Once we no longer need it, we will retain it for a set period (a retention period) but not use it. When the retention period expires we will delete your information from our records.  You can view our Retention Schedule here.

You can access the information we hold about you at any time. If you would like to do this, have any queries or questions, or want to raise a concern about the way in which we are using your personal information, please contact our Data Protection officer.
