Vehicle Licences

You need to have your vehicle licensed before you can use it as a taxi. We need to check the age, type, size and mechanical condition of the vehicle.

Please ensure that you read through the requirements set out in our licensing policy before purchasing a vehicle. We will not be responsible if you purchase a vehicle which is not compliant with our guidance and policies.

To make an appointment to book a compliance test you will need to submit a valid application before a test authorisation letter will be sent to you. Once you have received the test authorisation letter please contact one of our approved testing stations.

If you are purchasing a new vehicle then please book an appointment to see someone from our licensing team to approve the vehicle. The officer will then issue the test authorisation letter.
